Mentorship and Support
Our chapter’s mentorship program is a cornerstone of our commitment to supporting Blacks in STEM. We pair our college students and early career professionals with experienced professionals who provide guidance, share insights, and offer valuable career advice. Through these one-on-one relationships, mentees gain access to a wealth of knowledge and a supportive network that helps them navigate challenges, develop their skills, and achieve their goals.
Networking and Social Engagement
We recognize the vital role of networking and social engagement in cultivating a sense of community and belonging for minorities in STEM. We curate a series of events designed to connect aspiring and established professionals, creating spaces for meaningful interactions, knowledge exchange, collaboration and a pure good ol’ fashioned time.
Talent Development
We recognize the underrepresentation and systemic barriers our community faces and we seek to address these changes by providing a combination of skill building workshops and access to cutting-edge resources; we are fostering an environment where minority STEM professionals in Los Angeles can thrive and reach their full potential.
STEM Exposure
We are deeply committed to inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders through our STEM exposure initiatives tailored to K-12 students, college students and professionals. Our main programs that we are offer are our Day In The Life of An Engineer: STEM Company Tour and our STEM talk initiative. Through these platforms we organize engaging workshops, hands-on experiments and interactive company tours to ignite curiosity and showcase the exciting possibilities within STEM fields. By partnering with schools, universities, industry leaders and corporate companies, we provide access to role models and real world applications to nurture a passion for STEM
